A fresh batch of townhouses in Clarksburg, Md.

Craftmark Homes is building 107 townhouses at Clarksburg Town Center, a planned community of about 1,000 homes, with a shopping center and a variety of amenities, in Clarksburg, Md.

The townhouses come in two styles, the Richmond, priced from $549,900, and the Annapolis, priced from $489,900. (The development plan also calls for 16 “two-over-two” townhouse condos, with a pair of stacked two-story units in each four-story building.)

Craftmark says that its townhouses have vinyl siding and vinyl-framed windows that won’t require painting and that optional brick or stone accents can be added to make the exterior more interesting. The units are roofed with GAF 30-year architectural shingles.

About three-quarters of the townhouses have been built, and about three-quarters have been sold.

Up another flight is the bedroom area. The owner’s bedroom suite, in front, has a full bathroom and a walk-in closet. Two smaller bedrooms are in back, and there is a hall bathroom. This floor can also be configured with two large bedrooms instead.

Up one more flight is a loft area that can be finished as a bedroom with a full bathroom and a walk-in closet.

The Richmond townhouses all have four levels. An Annapolis unit can have three or four. An optional layout for the Annapolis has a bedroom and a full bathroom on the ground floor, in addition to the flex space, with a detached two-car garage.

The company does allow for some townhouse customization, said the production manager, Chris Schwindt Jr. “We do pride ourselves on working with our customers, by offering nonstandard options,” Schwindt said. He said buyers can ask for different fixtures or to change a floor layout.
